The programme was organized and implemented to inform the community members about some of the government flagship programs the district is benefiting from and the benefits the programme has brought to the financial lives of the community members.
The occasion was used to sensitize community members on the attempt of government to provide help to parents and guardians in educating their wards in the basic schools across the country of which the district is not exempted.
The facilitator explained that the program is a tool to help parents and also to promote girl child education since food is provided to the students for free. Thus, girls who find it difficult to go to school because of financial problem will be fed at school. He said that, the school feeding program also serves as job opportunities for members of the community. This in one way or the other is a government tool to reduce poverty and unemployment in the district and the country at large.
The occasion was attended by the various stakeholders who contributed in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
A total of sixty six (66) participants attended the programme from the various communities with 43 being males and 23 being females.
The meeting started at 1:25pm and closed at 3:20pm.
