The programme was organized and implemented to inform the community members and the staffs of the Department of Agriculture about the importance and how necessary it is to mechanize the agricultural activities in the country. The facilitator explained to the members that, since the world is climbing on the technological ladder, it is equally important for Ghanaians to also elevate and promote the agriculture sector to the world’s standard. This will help the Ghanaian goods to meet the standards of the world market when goods are exported.
He added that the mechanization of agriculture in Ghana will help reduces some of the activities which causes climate change and which have adverse effects on the agriculture products in the country. Once agriculture still remains the backbone of the country’s economy, there is the need to develop all its spheres and modernize it, thus raising the image of the country across the world. This will also improve the living standards of the industrious farmers and strengthens the economy of the country. The occasion was attended by the various stakeholders who contributed in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project.
