WORKS: SOD CUTTING CEREMONY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF ULTRA-MODERN MARKET AT AHENKRO

In line with the developmental agenda of the Assembly to develop Small and Medium-Scale Enterprises (SMEs), the Afigya Kwabre North District Assembly held a Sod-Cutting ceremony for the commencement of the construction of an ultra-modern Market at Ahenkro on Monday, 19th June, 2023.
This initiative is a Build-Operate-Transfer arrangement of the Assembly with a Private developer over a period of 25 years. The market when completed will consist of 149 lockable stores, 60 open sheds, 10-W/C toilet, Fire post, among many other facilities.
The District Chief Executive, Hon. Kwasi Karikari Achamfour indicated that the project was a crucial milestone for the Community of Ahenkro as it would be one of the finest markets in the district. He noted that it was going to serve as a vibrant hub for commerce and provide a conducive environment for businesses to thrive.
The Member of Parliament for the constituency, Hon. Collins Adomako Mensah also reiterated the transformative impact of the project on the Ahenkro community and the district at large.
Nana Ahenkrosei Poku IV, Ahenkrohene expressed his gratitude to the Assembly for the project, recognizing its potential to boost the local economy and improve the livelihoods of the community members. He urged the contractor to employ people from Ahenkro for the construction of the market. Furthermore he thanked all stakeholders and everyone present who contributed in ensuring a successful ceremony and was hopeful the project will be completed according to schedule to serve the needed impact.
