EDUCATION: DEOC Meeting

The programme was organized and implemented to create awareness on the programmes and decisions taken by the committee to promote educational activities in the district.
During the occasion, the members were sensitized on the importance of the committee as it decides and controls most activities that benefits the students and teachers as a whole. The facilitator educated the members of some of the importance of the education fund which is not limited to raising of fund to organize and implement some of the educational activities.
The facilitator indicated that, the district education oversight committee steers watch over all the implementations of policies in the district level of education. He also pointed out that, girl child education is very important as the future must be very bright for all girls and none should be deprived of access to better education. This helps reduces teenage pregnancy and child labor, he said. However the girl child education is progressing rapidly in the district, he added.
