PHYSICAL PLANNING: Public Education on Land Uses

The programme was organized and implemented to reform and educate the community members on the proper usage of land with regards to the kind of activities that should be undertaken on a particular piece of land.

During the program, the facilitator sensitized the community members on the importance of making good use of land and be extra cautious of the particular activity that is being undertaken on a particular land as some activities may have adverse effects on the fertility and nature of the land.
He educated the members to desist from the act of misusing land for activities that are not meant for it. He gave an example that, a land that is designated for future development should not be used as a land fill site. He said some communities have turned every virgin land into land fill site where they dump refuses.

He further educated the community members to use land for commercial, agricultural, infrastructural, economic, sanitation and other essential purposes that are beneficial and will serve the needs and interest of the people.

All stakeholders were involved in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of this programme. A total of 76 participants of which 43 were males and 33 were females
