The programme was organized and implemented to create awareness on the need to give proper attention to people with disabilities in a way of building up their potentials and capabilities and also preparing them for the society.
During the occasion, the members were sensitized on the strategies of the government to clean up all the people with disabilities along the road and streets by bringing forth programmes that will help develop the life of these people. The facilitator informed the members that, the job training given to the people with disability prepares them for life and makes them also feel sense of belongingness in the society.
He added that there are some people with disability who are academically good but has no support to further their education, because of this the government has made provisions to provide assistance to these people for them to continue with their studies. The facilitator continued to say that, these group of people are so dear to the heart of the government that there are provisions for them in their health issues under the National health Insurance Scheme.
The occasion was attended by the various stakeholders who contributed to the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the project. A total of ninety eight (92) participants attended the programme from the various communities with 53 being males and 39 being females. Out of this figure, four (4) participants were physically challenged.
