SWCD: Child Protection Programme

The programme was organized and implemented to create awareness on the importance of safeguarding the fundamental human rights as well as the lives of children in the district to prevent maltreatment, abusing and damage in the lives of children.
During the occasion, the members were enlightened and educated on the relevance of protecting the lives of children as they carry the future of the country. The facilitators then cautioned the members not to maltreat the children, give them out as maids to others whiles education is free in the country, and involve them in sexually activities and other immoral activities like drugs.
He informed the members that this program is to enlighten all and sundry and to sensitize them on how to handle and protect the lives of the children. Parents/ guardians who forced children into early marriage resulting in teenage pregnancy should put a stop to that since it is a breach of the law. However, he advised the members to make sure the lives of their children are secured for the future.
