The programme was organized and implemented to introduce to the members the relevance of replacing cut down trees with new ones to replenish the forest and natural resources. This is a useful tool to protect the environment.
The facilitator informed the members to indulge themselves in tree planting exercise along river banks and road sides to replace new ones, to serve as wind break and also to provide shade for the people.
During the occasion, the members were sensitized on the importance of planting trees in the forest areas to replenish the forest for future purposes. He said planting of trees also checks erosion along roads and in the homes.
The occasion was attended by the various stakeholders who contributed in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
A total of 53 participants attended the programme with 32 being males and 18 being females.
The meeting started at 10:15am and closed at 12:40pm.
