The programme was organized and implemented to create awareness on the importance of enacting and strengthening laws governing the usage of land for building in the various communities in the district. This is to forestall the act of inappropriate usage of land and unlawful way of undertaking construction work without permit from the Assembly.
The facilitator informed the members that, once the Assembly has being created and serving the various communities in the district, all activities relating to construction must be endorsed by the Assembly in the issuance of the right permit to undertake a particular project. The members were informed that, the various technocrats together with some of the Assembly Members met and decided on issues relating to building permit and other application.
The facilitator told the members that they should comply with the decisions and recommendations taken by the Assembly and their leaders to help promote sanity and development in the various communities and the district at large.
All stakeholders were involved in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of this programme. A total of 81 participants attended the programme from the various communities with 53 being males and 28 being females.
The meeting started at 9:52am and closed at 1:15pm.
