CENTRAL ADMIN & FINANCE: PUBLIC EDUCATION ON REVENUE MOBILISATION

9th November, 2024

The programme was organized and implemented to identify revenue sources and also provide in-service training for revenue collectors of the District to have in-depth knowledge in revenue mobilization.

During the occasion, the facilitator informed the members present that, revenue mobilized is used for developmental projects and programmes in the district. He said, the Assembly cannot rely solely on the common fund allocated to them by the central government, hence the need to concentrate also on the internal sources of accruing revenue to foster the development of the district. During the programme revenue collectors were trained on effective ways and strategies for mobilizing revenue to help improve the District’s IGF.

Revenue staff were also charged to educate and sensitize communities on the importance of paying rates, levies, etc. for local development. They added that this information is communicated to the whole public through the various information centres. All stakeholders were involved in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of this programme. A total of 53 staffs with 32 being males and 21 being females attended the programme.
