13th Disability Fund Disbursement

The Department of Social Welfare and Community Development organized its 13th Disbursement on Thursday, 7th November 2024 at the First Baptist Church of the district's share of the disability common fund.
In attendance was the media, the DCE of Afigya Kwabre North, Hon. Kwasi Karikari Achamfour, The DCE for Sekyere Central Hon. Kingley Kodua (aka Pozo) and the convener for the district social service sub committee. Others included the presiding member- Hon. Apomasu, Assembly Members, District Coordinating Director, Staff of the Assembly, Beneficiaries and their care givers.
Thirty-six(36) persons with disability were supported Cheques and cash were presented to 14 beneficiaries in the education category for payment of tuition. Two(2) beneficiaries from the health category for medical bills and twenty(20) beneficiaries from the income generating items. Various items received included industrial sewing machine , over-lock machine, Grinding machine and Fufu pounding machine.
The DCE in his speech encouraged beneficiaries discouraged them from selling them off for meager sums of money as items are embossed and encouraged the Disability Fund Management Committee to conduct periodic monitoring exercise to assess their impact on their lives.
Beneficiaries promised to be fruitful with the items received.
